Azerbaijani Radio played a crucial role in the dissemination of national values, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Public Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said in a post on X, according to Report.

"Today is a landmark day in the history of Azerbaijani television and radio. Exactly 100 years ago-on November 6, 1926-with the words 'Attention, Baku is speaking!' the Azerbaijani Radio went on air for the first time, laying the foundation of our national broadcasting history and playing a crucial role in the public and cultural life of our people, in the dissemination of our national values, and in the development of enlightenment traditions," Hajiyev said.

He noted that on February 14, 1956, with the launch of the Azerbaijani Television's activities, this historic path entered a new stage.

"Over the past years, television and radio have become vital information tools that chronicle our country's public-political and cultural life, conveying the history of our people and our national-spiritual heritage to future generations.

Today, Azerbaijani television and radio, while preserving its rich historical traditions, is also developing in line with the demands of the modern era. The media reforms implemented in recent years under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev serve to strengthen institutional potential, expand the technical capabilities of television and radio broadcasting, integrate with digital platforms, and increase the thematic diversity and quality of programs," the presidential aide said.

He noted that the attention and care shown by the head of the Azerbaijani state toward the activities of media representatives also evoke special gratitude.

"President Ilham Aliyev's awarding of a group of media representatives on November 5, 2026, is a manifestation of the high appreciation given to the dedicated work of professionals who have served this field with loyalty for many years.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Radio and the professional holiday of television and radio workers, I sincerely congratulate all television and radio staff, including the veterans of this field, and wish each of you robust health, creative successes, and new achievements," Hikmat Hajiyev said.
