A tanker navigating outside Iran's designated maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz exploded after striking a mine, triggering a fire aboard the vessel, Report informs, citing IRIB referencing a statement by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
"A supertanker that violated established rules collided with two naval mines, after which a fire broke out," the IRGC stated.
The IRGC Navy warned that vessels violating safety regulations in the Strait of Hormuz will face the same outcome.
