The opening of transit communication between Russia and Armenia through Georgia cannot replace the Zangazur Corridor, Russian political scientist, director of the Center for Political Studies Sergey Markov told Report's Russian bureau.
He noted that the Zangazur Corridor is designed to connect Nakhchivan with the main part of Azerbaijan, as well as Türkiye with Russia through Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“I think that the opening of communication between Russia and Armenia through Georgia is really possible, but for this there must be a development of relations with Georgia. Russia would be more interested in communication and cooperation with the Georgian authorities than with Armenia,” Markov said.
