Uzbekistan will establish a Regional Alliance of Investment Councils for Central Asia and the Caucasus under an initiative put forward by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the opening ceremony of the Tashkent
Investment Forum, according to Report.
"We consider the initiative of the Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to establish a Regional Alliance of Investment Councils for Central Asia and the Caucasus to be a timely decision," Mirziyoyev said.
The Uzbek leader expressed confidence that the initiative would serve as the first step toward creating a common investment space across the region.
He also noted that Uzbekistan would continue to advance institutional dialogue with investors.
"Tomorrow, we will hold a plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council under the President, a permanent institutional platform for dialogue with investors. By sitting at the same table, we will find effective solutions to any challenges that arise and define specific tasks," Mirziyoyev said.
