"Now is not the time to join NATO, it is necessary to show solidarity with Ukraine," Finland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto told journalists, Report informs, citing TRT Haber.
"Finland decides on its own security policy. It is we who are responsible for this. We have a very good cooperation with NATO. According to European security laws, each country decides on its own security," he said.
A meeting of NATO foreign ministers was held on March 4. Along with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, the foreign ministers of Finland and Sweden were also invited to the meeting.
