The European Union on Wednesday opened a representative office in Qatar to strengthen energy cooperation, President of the European Council Charles Michel said in Doha, Report informs.
"We are in Doha to strengthen the excellent relationship between the EU and Qatar. Energy supplies, regional and economic stability are at the center of our bilateral cooperation," he said.
EU countries are negotiating with Qatar, the world's largest supplier of liquefied natural gas, to increase gas supplies to Europe amid a desire to abandon Russian energy resources.
