A Qatar Airways flight operating from Doha to Tbilisi was diverted to Heydar Aliyev International Airport after adverse weather conditions prevented it from landing at its scheduled destination, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) told Report.
Flight QTR253, operated by an Airbus A320, landed safely in Baku at 20:23 (GMT+4) local time after the aircraft's captain decided to use the airport as an alternate destination.
The airline said the diversion was made because of unfavorable weather conditions in Tbilisi. Heydar Aliyev International Airport provided all necessary ground services in accordance with standard operational procedures.
The flight is expected to continue to Tbilisi once weather conditions improve.
