Banuchichak Nasirli reaches semifinals of European U19 Boxing Championships

Azerbaijani boxer Banuchichak Nasirli has reached the semifinals of the European U19 Boxing Championships in Loznica, Serbia, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.

The national team member competing in the 48 kg weight category defeated Katarzyna Gornisiewicz of Poland 3:2 in the quarterfinals. The judges scored the bout 30:27, 28:29, 28:29, 30:27 and 29:28.

By reaching the semifinals, Nasirli has secured at least a bronze medal. She will face Ellen Joyce of Ireland in the semifinal on August 20 for a place in the final.

Four more Azerbaijani athletes are scheduled to compete in quarterfinal bouts today.
