A major agreement was reached during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Washington to establish unimpeded connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Fuad Najafli, the Azerbaijani President’s special representative in Nakhchivan, said at a special Cabinet meeting focused on the visit, Report informs.
He noted that the lack of a direct land connection between the two parts of the country had previously created challenges:
“Thanks to the president’s policies, Nakhchivan has entered a new stage of development. A variety of projects are now being implemented in the autonomous republic across sectors such as social development, the economy, science, and culture,” Najafli said.
