Oleksandra Naryzhna: Digital analysis of city inclusivity is applied in Urban Reform

The Ukrainian public organization Urban Reform is cooperating with the HerCity project, an initiative of UN-Habitat and the Shared City Foundation, to apply the relevant methodology in recovery processes, Oleksandra Naryzhna, founder of the Ukrainian NGO Urban Reform, said during a panel discussion at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.

"We use digital tools for the analysis of the inclusivity of the urban environment and the assessment of the accessibility of public spaces and facilities for women, girls, and vulnerable groups of the population," she noted.

According to her, the system allows visualizing various facilities, including shelters, as well as obtaining information about their condition, level of damage, repair, and the time of data collection.

In addition, the platform analyzes the "proximity" principle, showing how much time is needed to reach facilities on foot, by wheelchair, or by public transport.

It should be noted that the HerCity project offers a practical and flexible methodology of inclusive urban planning based on the involvement of women in the process of designing the urban environment.
