Mauricio Rodas: Baku's development level, quality of urban infrastructure are impressive

The level of development in Baku and the quality of its urban infrastructure are truly impressive.

Former mayor of Quito, Ecuador, Mauricio Rodas told Report on the sidelines of WUF13 in Baku.

"I am very glad to be here, in Baku, Azerbaijan - in this amazing place with developed urban infrastructure and truly warm hospitality," he said.

The former mayor noted that WUF13 is discussing key issues of global urban development.

"At the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, we are discussing progress in implementing the New Urban Agenda, as well as global challenges related to building more sustainable, resilient and prosperous cities around the world," he emphasized.

He also shared his impressions of Azerbaijan's capital, highlighting the high level of urban improvement and the comfort of the urban environment.

"What I have seen has made a very pleasant impression on me: this is a beautiful, well-organized, well-maintained and clean city with top-level infrastructure. I would especially like to note the warmth and hospitality of local residents. I am truly glad to be here," he added.
