Latin American countries are urging continued international discussions to recognize housing not as a commercial commodity but as a fundamental human right, Maria Silvia Emanuelli, Latin America Regional Office (HIC-AL) Coordinator for the Habitat International Coalition (HIC), said during the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
She emphasized that the international community must continue working to change the approach that views housing as an object of market and financial speculation.
