Azerbaijani FM discuss situation in region with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State Erika Olson.

Bayramov said the visit of the US Assistant Secretary of State to Azerbaijan was important in terms of discussing the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the US, as well as acquaintance with the current situation in the region. The meeting noted that the two countries have a long and successful partnership.

Erika Olson noted that a very productive meeting was held with the President of Azerbaijan during her visit. She praised Azerbaijan's support for security in Afghanistan within the framework of the NATO peacekeeping mission and thanked.

The sides exchanged views on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict phase. The Minister informed the other side about the steps taken by Azerbaijan unilaterally to implement the trilateral statements.
