Ali Naghiyev attends 28th meeting of Conference of Special Services of Turkic-Speaking States

A delegation headed by Director of Azerbaijan's State Security Service (SSS), Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, took part in the 28th meeting of the Conference of Special Services of Turkic-Speaking States held in Kazakhstan.

According to Report, citing the SSS press service, Naghiyev addressed the meeting and drew attention to new global and regional threats arising from current geopolitical processes, including the serious consequences of ongoing large-scale military confrontations for the operation of transport corridors.

He said the recruitment of citizens through various means to take part in military operations as mercenaries, as well as the smuggling of weapons, ammunition and explosives illegally removed from combat zones, posed serious threats to the security environment and aggravated the criminal situation.

Naghiyev also noted the negative impact of continuing crises in the Middle East, including the blockade of strategic straits, on global trade, energy security and the world economy.

He stressed that amid current uncertainties, no state could remain unaffected by ongoing developments and emphasized the importance of further expanding the exchange of experience and information among partner states to reliably ensure national security and address emerging challenges from a common position.

The meeting assessed the current global situation and discussed necessary steps to ensure regional security amid contemporary challenges.

A final document covering the relevant issues was signed at the meeting.
