Nearly 1,386 hectares cleared of mines in liberated territories over past week, ANAMA says

Between September 21 and 27, 29 anti-tank mines, 208 anti-personnel mines, and 1,436 other unexploded ordnance (UXO) were discovered and neutralized in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, Report informs, citing the weekly update of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).

During the specified period, an area of 1,385.8 hectares was cleared of mines and unexploded remnants.

Demining operations were conducted by ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, five local entities, and one NGO. Clearance activities took place in Terter, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Shusha, Khojavand, Lachin, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan, as well as in the liberated villages of Baganis Ayrim, Ashaghy Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili in the Gazakh district.
