Azerbaijan views Icherisheher not only as a tourist destination but also as a full-fledged urban space where people continue to live and work, Sabina Hajiyeva, head of the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
"We don't view it solely as a tourist destination. People live, work, and conduct their daily lives in Icherisheher. We preserve the historical atmosphere of Icherisheher as much as possible because we perceive it as the heart of Baku," Hajiyeva noted.
