Mammad Musayev: Over 5% of individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan's Karabakh are women

Some 5.2% of individual entrepreneurs registered in the Karabakh economic region are women, Mammad Musayev, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, said at the 10th Business Forum of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Baku, Report informs.

According to Musayev, 28.6% of women entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan are registered in Baku, 10% in the Lankaran-Astara, and 9.6% in the Gazakh-Tovuz economic regions: “5.2% of individual entrepreneurs registered in the Karabakh economic region are women. This is a proud indicator and we are sure that their number will gradually increase.”

Musayev noted that economic models based on the principles of sustainable development - green technologies, digitalization and inclusion - will determine the entrepreneurial system of the future: "These topics were also widely discussed at the COP29 event in Baku, which was held by the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs together with the International Organization of Employers. We believe that in this way, the CICA region can create an exemplary cooperation environment with mutual learning and joint initiatives. We, as the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, will continue to be an active participant in these processes. We believe that new initiatives, projects and cooperation formats will emerge as a result of this Forum."
