Kairat Sarybay: Azerbaijan proposed to create Women's Council within CICA

As part of its chairmanship, Azerbaijan is focusing on inclusive development, including the creation of the Women's Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Secretary General of the organization Kairat Sarybay said during the 8th plenary session of the CICA Business Council held in Baku, Report informs.

The Secretary General noted that the empowerment of women is not only justice, but also a strategic necessity for sustainable growth. "The creation of the CICA Women's Council will become a platform for institutional interaction. It is also important to develop synergy between the CICA advisory bodies - the Business Council and the Youth Council, since youth are a key source of innovation," said Sarybay.

According to him, the university partnership network can be used to involve young researchers in the development of small and medium-sized businesses: "This is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 4 - Quality Education and SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth."
